Energy can be neither created nor destroyed but only changed from one form to another. This principle is known as the conservation of energy or the first law of thermodynamics.

I think there might be an application of this law to how humans come up with various ideas of what they call progress.
There is no such thing as progress, there is no state of utopia.
Human beings are fallible and subject to making terrible mistakes because we can never and will never be able to control everything. We do not even know what ¨everything¨ is - knowing everything implies all that is in the universe. In the grand scheme of things, to put it in perspective, humans are like ants. An ant will never know how to build a rocket to go to the moon.
Humans´s brains are such that we think we can know everything, in fact, we think we know everything right now. It is like thinking you can read every book ever published. Our brains do not have the capacity to know everything. Even if we knew ¨everything¨ would we be able to wisely act on that knowledge? It would be like giving a toddler a machine gun.
So, human progress is just a manipulation where humans constantly change one problem for another.
We make the problems worse as we upset the natural order of things.
The natural order of our world is how we came to be here in the first place.
To get rid of all pain - means you get rid of pleasure. Witness the people living in the street who have tried to use drugs to rid themselves of pain.
To get rid of poverty - means you make the wealthy even more wealthy and the poor even more poor. Today the wealthiest people in the world are the people who still live in a natural state because they know how to build their own shelters and feed themselves, living in equilibrium with their environments. They owe nothing to anyone else.
To get rid of all opposition - means you also get rid of everyone around you, all people. Because as soon as you think you have eradicated opposition, another opposing side pops up.
To get rid of death means that all will die. In our push to get rid of a virus (one we apparently engineered) we have killed millions of people and potentially many more as more adverse events manifest themselves.
Everything about our world is about equilibrium.
Everything.
And it is glaringly evident that in our push to ¨progress¨ we are pushing our global systems to chaos where nothing works, where we will not be able to survive and thrive.
We created a false religion called science, but we do not even follow our discoveries in the field. In nature, there is equilibrium.
Human nature is fallible.
Everything is connected.
There is no progression towards a perfect state, only the change of outcomes from one outcome to another.
We are not God. We are not all-knowing. The closer we live within nature, within our natural environments, the better off the whole world is.
This is evident in our current state of massive environmental and human destruction where we live disconnected from nature and each other.
Tucker is very intelligent, he understands and has the temerity to state it.
